While attempting to steal a cybernetic implant from an infamous megacorp named TriOptimum, the Hacker is caught red-handed and taken to a space vessel known as Citadel Station. Our protagonist is a nameless hacker living in a crowded futuristic city, attempting to get by stealing tech from powerful companies. Finally, the laser itself must be fired from the large red control button in the central room in Level 2.Before we dive into the actual ending, let's quickly recap the plot of the game leading up to that point to give you a better idea of the story as a whole.Īs the beginning of the game quickly establishes, System Shock's story takes place in 2072.
